ILY is a series of projects that aims to spread positivity and good vibes to society, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic and the lifestyle changes we've experienced. The project involves repetitive art that serves as a reminder that it's okay not to be okay sometimes. I was inspired to create this project after witnessing Black Deaf individuals signing ILY (I Love You) during goodbyes. This moment made me realize that it's okay to be different and that we are all the same.
Although ILY doesn't have any specific intent or message, its silence speaks volumes and serves a profound purpose, making me feel better. That's why I want to create as many replicas of ILY as possible for a public art project to raise awareness of Deaf culture. I believe that by sharing it with those who may need it or are unaware, we can spread the message of love and support.
I created an ILY series of projects by drawing inspiration from pop culture, music, societal issues, and various other themes. It will use various art materials and technology to create on any surface without limits or boundaries.
